Our accommodation

Sentraali

Address: Vanhatie 9 A

Sentraali is a beautiful, yellow painted wooden house, which invites you to enjoy luxury and your own peace. Sentraali’s two luxurious rooms, the light color room called Alma and the dark room called Tyyne are suitable for your overnight stay when traveling alone or as a couple.

Both rooms have their own entrance through a decorative porch, so an intimate atmosphere is guaranteed. The rooms can be connected to each other, making Sentraali perfectly suitable as accommodation for your family as well.

House Sentraali was built at the end of the 19th century and has become known as Juuka’s old manual call center. Sentraali’s manual call center was managed for a long time by the women of the house, after whom the rooms Alma and Tyyne got their names.

Jukola

Address: Vanhatie 8

Jukola is an atmospheric, home-like wooden house that offers a comfortable place to stay when traveling alone, together, with your family or a larger group. This beautiful light peach colored house exudes nostalgia, as the building dates to the early 1900s, and its five-room interior combines the ornate style of yesteryear with interesting details.

The history of the Jukola house dates to the time when the food and fabric department of co-operative store Jukola was housed in the building. This legacy lives on in the house’s name, which recalls its history as an important trading post.

Jukola’s atmospheric rooms are named according to their color scheme with the names of wildflowers such as Ruusu (Rose), Kanerva (Heather), Orvokki (Violet), Kielo (Lily of the Valley), and Leinikki (Buttercup). Kielo is a barrier-free downstairs room with its own entrance and passage through the dining room. Leinikki welcomes also your pets. These downstairs rooms can be combined into one large room, making them an ideal choice when traveling with a larger group.

Petra

Address: Poikolantie 2

Petra means deer in Finnish eastern dialects, but in this case the accommodation is named after the legendary hotel-restaurant Petra. Five rooms equipped with basic amenities are in the old hotel part of the former hotel-restaurant Petra.

Petra’s rooms offer you relaxed and carefree accommodation. They are suitable for your accommodation if you are traveling alone, as a couple or with a larger group.

Petra’s rooms Koli, Pielinen, Vuokko, Paalasmaa and Valkeinen are named after local interesting places to visit and attractions. Your pets are also welcome in rooms Koli and Pielinen.

Nimismies

Address: Vanhatie 9 B

Nimismies’s lockup accommodation is especially suitable for you if you crave a little excitement in your life, long for a different overnight experience, and are not afraid of simple lockup conditions. The lockup accommodation is in the old police station in Juuka. Nimismies means rural police chief, but the name also refers to the building.

Nimismies’s three lockups have one bed, and one lockup has two beds. There are no other amenities in the rooms. The shower and toilet are in the corridor. You can also use the former police officers break room, where you can cook on a small scale.

The story goes that a long time ago, Juuka’s police chief killed the local doctor at the end of an evening party. The reason for the murder was revealed to be jealousy of a woman whom both men were in love with.

According to rumors, the municipal doctor was left thirsting for revenge on the police chief. His ghost may still roam the building where the lockup accommodation is located, looking for a police chief in his hands.
