Restaurant Juuan Seura – cozy restaurant in the heart of Puu-Juuka

Restaurant Juuan Seura serves you and your party simple classic delicacies, prepared with passion from high-quality and local ingredients.

Our restaurant is open from 15.1.-15.2.2026 by reservation only from Tuesday to Saturday from 17:00 to 21:00 in the heart of Puu-Juuka at Seurojentalo (Apteekintie 5). The kitchen is open until 20:30.

You can make a table reservation by sending us an email with your table reservation request to sales@puujuuka.fi or by calling 050 351 7490. Please note that we hold table reservations for 15 minutes beyond the reserved time, after which the seats will be released for other customers.

Classic delicacies with a local twist

Our kitchen conjures up delicious set menus and à la carte dishes from carefully selected meat, fish and vegetable ingredients. We prepare the dishes on our menu with respect for regional culinary traditions.

You can complement your delicious dining experience with our wine recommendation, a frosty beer from a local brewery or other soft drinks.

Menu 1 - A Breath Of The Forest

For centuries, the forests around Juuka have provided
their gifts – mushrooms, berries, and roots
carried to village houses to be slowly baked
in the warmth of the stone oven.

Near Puu-Juuka, it was said that ancient woods
were guarded by forest spirits,
honored by taking only what nature freely offered.

This menu embraces that heritage: ingredients from the woods
are transformed with gentle heat into deep, grounded flavors.

Juuka is known for its soapstone,
a material that shaped both local craftsmanship
and the hearts of village homes.
Stone ovens were the heart of celebration,
producing the finest dishes for feast days. 

Smoked duck and oven-tender pike-perch
continue this soapstone tradition – honoring time,
fire and shared meals.

From the shores of Lake Pielinen came fishermen
whose catch graced festive tables;
here that legacy meets modern interpretation.
